Brainwaves Coaching consists of competent, committed and experienced coaches. Allow us to introduce them to you.
Brainwaves was formed in 2000 by Siân Griffith. After successfully competing in swimming competitions, Siân spent some time away from the pool.
Siân rediscovered her passion for swimming in the early 90's, and decided to create a career out of her love for the sport. Initially qualifying as an Assistant Swimming Teacher, she then went on to qualify as a Swimming Teacher through the Amateur Swimming Association scheme. Siân consolidated her course learning by working at a Leisure Centre and running a private swimming school, where she taught infants through to adults. Further specialist courses followed, including Adult and Child, before finding the Shaw Method of swimming, which provides an holistic approach to swimming teaching.
Sian also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Sport and Exercise Science, specialising in Sports Psychology.
Lessons are carefully programmed to cater for every individual's needs, whether nervous or confident in the water. Brainwaves caters for all ages and all abilities. Each pupil will be taught as an individual, with skills, knowledge and rates of learning specific to themselves.
Brainwaves is committed to providing a high standard of teaching throughout each course, by experienced and qualified teachers. It believes in a teaching program that gives continuity and a progression of skills. It recognises that, to maintain the highest possible standards, there is a need to continually update it's knowledge and skills. This is a process to which all at Brainwaves are fully committed.
"Sian has been teaching us swimming for over 10 years. I'm impressed by the concentration and focus that she shows during her lessons." - Sharon
